It’s amazing how most plants, fruits, and vegetables growing wild without any pesticides have many health benefits, including cancer prevention and treatment without affecting normal, healthy cells. Yet they are not widely publicized as essential medicine because pharmaceutical companies cannot patent them and make money. One such plant is the Madagascar periwinkle, or rosy periwinkle, a beautiful plant that could brighten any garden. For decades, scientists have eagerly researched and extracted a chemical called Vinblastine from its leaves (Interestingly, the World Health Organization recognizes this chemical as an essential medicine). Studies highly indicate that Vinblastine stops development of new blood vessels that boost tumor growth, induces programmed cell death (Apoptosis), and inhibits cells from entering mitosis, thereby interrupting cell division. And further, Vinblastine has been used in the treatment of leukemia and lymphomas, as well as bladder, testicular, lung, ovary, and breast cancer. However, no matter what the vegetable, fruit, or plant, please research this on your own, and please consult your physician and/or homeopathic professional before making any dietary or lifestyle changes.
